Querida Familia!
This has been quite a different week. No snow, but that has left room for ICE. We've had some good times with that with almost falling and sometimes falling straight on our backsides! Don't worry, we havent' been hurt, but it's definitely funny watching us walk around, trying not to slip and fall. :)
This has been a busy week... Like always :) Covering two different wards and then the spanish branch definitely has its advantages; there's always TONS to do! Here's an update on our investigators. :) Alberto and Mari: They are doing so great! Alberto says he needs to learn more before he's baptized and Mari loves learning doing all she can to learn more. She's a sunday school teacher for another church (only until April, when her contract is up) and this week her class of 7 year olds asked her about prayer and she explained to them how to pray out of one of the pamphlets that we had left with them! She said she really liked it and the way it was explained. We talked to them about prophets last night and earlier in the week we talked about the Plan of Salvation and Mari took notes during the whole thing. Alberto hardly has any church background, but he says that the things we share make sense to him. They're doing great! Lopez Family: We had a super good lesson on forgiveness this week with Maria. She's told us that she can't get baptized until she forgives certain people. She's told us that that is her biggest obstacle right now; forgiving others. So, we talked about it and had a really good lesson with her; the Spirit was very strong. At the end of it we bore testimony and invited her to be baptized again. Sis. Probst set a date with her and you could just see the spirit working with Maria. She told us that she knew she needed to be baptized, but just to be sure, she wants to talk to her husband. So, she wouldn't set a date, but there was just a change in her... That's the most committed I've seen her in a while. Eutiquio is still having some Word of Wisdom issues, so keep him in your prayers. I know that he will come around with time. James Dable: Haven't been able to see him much this week... He's going through a really tough time with everything right now... Keep him in your prayers!
That pretty much sums up everybody! Thank you so much to everyone and for all the prayers that you say for me and my companion and especially for our investigators.
Heavenly Father really does want all of his children to come unto him and to accept the blessings that come with baptism and making covenants with our Heavenly Father. He loves us all. That's why he's given us His gospel. I am so grateful for my Savior; that he loves us enough to give us his gospel. That he has given us prophets to lead us and guide us and show us the way. He's given us the scriptures that we can read and learn more about our Savior and what his life means for us. This gospel is so true! Missionary work is hard work, but I love it :)
